Hell’s Kitchen

HK as we like to call it, is a Fox Television show that is remarkably similar to CBS’s Big Brother, in that it is about a group of individuals who live in a house and compete to win a significant prize.

The difference is that in Hell’s Kitchen the house guests are subjected to the grueling, high pressure stakes environment of the professional cooking.  Oh, it’s F#*@ing awesome!

These poor, ambitious souls, are constantly berated by master chef, Chef Gordon Ramsay. The man is not only an amazing cook, but is practically an international, cooking superstar and has had 7 successful seasons of Hell’s Kitchen, along with many, many successful restaurants. On top of that, he’s also very large and scary. Honestly though, he’s a very nice individual, except for those people that are lucky enough, or unlucky enough, to be under his gun in Hell’s Kitchen.

My responsibilities included:

  • Reality based coverage of contestants by…
  • Directing over 75 robotic cameras, and…
  • Coordinating and relaying information between several departments including, story (producers), audio, tape control, camera and the show’s Live Show Director.

Essentially, my job is identical to Big Brother’s, in that it is my responsibility to cover “reality” moments as they happen, in real time. Below are some photos of me on the job. I’m sure you’ll notice the similarities between BB and HK very quickly.
